scope OF work
The aim of the project was a comprehensive modernization and expansion of the existing ammonia refrigeration machine room operating in an industrial facility. The scope included the preparation of design documentation, prefabrication of control cabinets, execution of electrical installations, and complete programming of the control system. The project was carried out in collaboration with a company specializing in industrial refrigeration technology.
Due to the strategic importance of the installation for the entire plant, a highly available, redundant PLC system based on ControlLogix was implemented, along with dual power redundancy. The network communication was built in the PRP standard, ensuring continuous operation even in the event of a failure of one of the communication channels.
The system was distributed using Point I/O modules, and the drives are controlled using PowerFlex 755TL inverters. The operator interface was implemented in the FactoryTalk View SE 13 environment, allowing full visualization and control of the process.
As part of the project, full integration with the existing pumping station was carried out, ensuring data consistency, communication, and control logic between the new and existing infrastructure. An advanced pump and compressor management and queuing system was also implemented, enabling optimization of equipment operation, reduction of energy consumption, and extension of system lifespan.
